“At any instant, the quality of your life is directly related to how interested you are in it.” – Joel Kramer (Yoga as Self-Transformation)
Can you recall a time when you read something or personally experienced something that created a complete degree shift in who you were? That you could no longer go back to unknowing what you now know?
When I read this quote I had one of my biggest ‘ah ha’ moments. I was forever changed from that day forward.
Have you ever experienced a friend complaining about the circumstances of her life situation – the bills, the time spent at work, the lack of a passion for law – how interested is she in her life?
I have found that there is a direct correlation in the relationship between the quality of my life and the interest I have in what I am doing in my life. In reading the above quote, it has helped me to focus on doing more of what I am interested in. This also makes me feel good.
This leads me back to FEELINGS.
“Feelings are how you perceive life. Perception informs how you live.” – Danielle LaPorte (The Desire Map)
So, how do we start to focus on feeling good?
- Choice: First step is to make a choice to feel good.
- Surround yourself with like minded people that can lift you up when you are having a down moment or day. This can be friends, a Coach, an online community, subscribing or following those that you are naturally drawn to that speak into what you want to see more of in your life, and/or reading a book.
- Journal: Write 3 things you are grateful for every day for 30 days. This will direct your focus in a way that will allow you to look at things that make you feel good.
Now it’s your turn: What gets you fired up? What makes you feel good?
