I often hear “I can not start a business.” Followed by several reasons why: Time. Money. I don’t know what I want to do. Overcome things that are stopping you from starting your passion business.

Furthermore, I have found that it comes down to 3 things that stop us in our tracks and cause us to feel stuck.

1. Overcome things that are stopping you from starting your passion business by letting go of FEAR

We worry about what other people think. About what we have to offer. About whether we are good enough to do this business thing.

Does this sound familiar: Firstly who am I to start a business? Secondly, what will I do? Thirdly who will even listen to me? And am I even GOOD enough to do this? I will just think about this later…when I know more when I’m older when I know more people when I make more money. I think you get the point.

We ask ourselves all kinds of questions that leave our heads spinning with self-doubt and confusion. And then we decide to just deal with it LATER. This is the kiss of death.

Starting a business is a total journey in self-discovery and persistence. You will never know it all. You will never get better until you do it. And, “you can’t be afraid to start small and/or sucky” – as Marie Forleo would say!

You will not get out there and make your dreams a reality until you make a DECISION to do it. And, then you must have a BURNING DESIRE. A Desire that is so strong that you choose to face FEAR head-on.

2. Wealth Consciousness

Wealth Consciousness means to break old money habits and programs of lack and enter a frequency of abundance. It is our beliefs about money and wealth that dictate our relationship with money and wealth. What beliefs do you have about money that are stopping you from moving forward?

It is us that give ourselves limitations. No one else. I know this all too well.

May I illustrate something?: You have a skill or a service; let’s go with Accounting or a Tax professional for now. How much will it cost you to start your business? The courage to put yourself out there and tell people that you do Tax services! How much did that cost in dollars? Zero. That is right. Zero. You can be fancier than that and pay for a bunch of stuff like a website and all, but do you have to out the gate: No. Get one client, then make a website.

Ok, so you want to sell a product. Can you sell something that you don’t have to have on hand? Can you position yourself to retail a product that you can buy wholesale once the client has purchased it? There are all kinds of options, you just have to be ready to make your ideas come to life.

When we put limitations on the amount of money we can make or what is possible, we chip away at our mind’s ability to be creative, to find solutions, and to manifest that which we desire. If you can see it, that means that you can make it happen. I recently heard a coach – Gina Devee – say, “If you desire it, then that means it is meant for you.” This resonated so deeply for me.

Imagine: It is OK to want to travel to nice places and go shopping. It is OK to want to stay at 5 or 6-star hotels and get massages. It is OK to want to work and experience the best that life has to offer and still help people.

This was so freeing for me. Think about what we tell ourselves. How we give up on our dreams because of how other people may look at us or how it may mean that now we have become greedy or superficial or {fill in the blank}.

3. Overwhelm

The never-ending laundry list of TODOs. And, then, comes “I don’t have enough time” and “I will worry about that later”.

Do you notice how busy people are always the most efficient with their time? It is because you have to be. Now, on a similar note, you do what is most important to you. So, when you make your business a priority, it will be a priority. Simple, I know. But, it is not always about knowing something, it is about how you can implement it. It is what you do that gets you results, not what you know.

Lastly, I would like to say that your WHY, the reason you get up in the morning, the reason that you are doing this business is also super important.

WHY do you want to start a business? This will help to propel you forward. What often stops people is not having a big enough why. And from my experience, MONEY can not be the only reason.

You need to define what Time or Money or Freedom means. Dig deep and find the true reason. And, a secret: it usually is based in some form of service or making the world a better place. What have you experienced in your life? What is your story and what part of your story has brought you to desire this business?

Now, go out there and make it happen.
Believing in you and overcome things that are stopping you from starting your business.
