An exquisite mix of historically Spanish Architecture and stunning views.
It’s intoxicating beauty draws you in like bees to honey.
It is a place that is inspired, peaceful and wondrous.
The last time I was in Santa Barbara was about 15 years ago when I visited and briefly studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara for two summer courses. At this time, I could not appreciate Santa Barbara for what is was: magical.
Come take a little journey with me though the streets of this truly unique city.
Shopping & Yoga
Hitting the main shopping district of Downtown Santa Barbara, they had quaint shops mixed with a touch of historic relevance. While venturing down a quite fantastically Spanish archway, I was transported to a place I didn’t expect: Core Power Yoga. It was nestled beautifully with the perfect touch of modern meets architecturally Spanish eloquence. I was captivated.
Next, I ventured to the Santa Barbara Courthouse. I had to get my history fix; and OMG! did I get a fix. The great architecture, the meeting room for the court and city officials, the building of the clock tower: all beautiful. The courthouse was stunning and the views from the clock tower were unbelievable. I could have stared off at the views from the tower for hours.
Just on the outskirts of downtown Santa Barbara there was a charming little vegan Cafe/Dinner: Amada Vegan Comfort Cuisine. It was the cutest little dinner. It just melted my heart with the mix of eclectic styles that just made it feel like a home. My favorite part was the absolutely cute 1950’s stove and oven (which still works!).
The best find was The Sacred Space in Summerland, Santa Barbara. This place had crystals galore and spiritual reverence and décor that transported you to another world. I was mesmerized by the beauty of what seemed like hidden, magical gardens nestled behind what was a seemingly small storefront entrance. Within this garden, there were beautiful pavilions to sit, relax and have some complimentary tea and water.
I ended my trip with my feet in the soft sands of Carpinteria Beach with “The Power of Now” in my hands, reading.
