You know those days you just wake up and know the day is going to suck? Or you just left a meeting where you felt like everyone just figured out that you didn’t know what the heck you were talking about? Or your mood feels like a cyclone that just tore through the middle of the country? Or you just got your heart broken?
Well, how do you shift that energy to come from a place of love and happiness?
Here are five tips I use to turn that frown upside down:
1. Decide to make a different choice. You would be amazed to know how easy it is to choose something different – an emotion, a thought, even a restaurant. The ball is always in your court.
2. Smile. The minute you smile you send a signal to the rest of your body that it’s time to start the fireworks, cause this girl is happy. It is hard to smile and not feel the energy vibration of love or happiness.
3. Get on Up – and change your surroundings. Many times that negative feeling or emotion that arose did so in the place your body is currently residing. Leave the energy where it arose and change your location.
4. Pick a favorite song and sing and dance in the mirror or living room. Shake out all the unwanted energy or negative emotions. Clear the space in your body for new and positive energy.
5. Make someone else laugh. When you take the focus off of you and your negative feelings and focus on how you can make someone else’s world a bit brighter, it in turn makes you feel good. And when someone else is laughing, I can’t help but smile and laugh myself; which is good for the soul.
